The company PowerGIS Gmbh, based in Wals, was recently nominated by RegionalMedien Salzburg for the "My Health - My Business" award.
Health is important here
The company implements a large number of measures within the framework of workplace health promotion. “This includes running during working hours to promote team spirit as well as monthly off-duty team activities. This includes hiking together, skiing and much more," says Maike Holz. The company also takes part in the Salzburg Business Run and the company triathlon every year. Employees are also offered a healthy lunch made with local and fresh produce and there is a fruit basket in the company. At the workplace, attention is paid to ergonomics. The company relies on bright, modern, spacious offices. The office premises in Wals were redesigned with health-promoting aspects in mind. This includes a co-working space and sound-absorbing measures. There's even a chill-out area with yoga mats, beanbags for breaks, and a creative zone called "Camp" to keep the space varied for meetings.
Individual solutions
Under the ARENA slope management brand, the company offers individual solutions for mountain railways using various products and services. The scope of services includes geodata management, in particular the surveying of ski areas by drone, the processing and the display of geodata. In addition, PowerGIS GmbH collects digital terrain models and aerial photographs.
For snow depth measurement
The GPS-based snow depth measurement was developed by managing director Robert Sölkner 15 years ago as the first provider. Since the system is based on GPS and geodata, the original core competence of data processing forms the basis of the company to this day. The company currently works with 55 mountain railways and looks after snow depth measurement systems in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Through the use of GPS measurement, the snow depth is precisely measured. Another product of the company is the Arena-Rescue application, the so-called piste rescue. A smartphone app gives piste rescuers a toolbox for operational management.
